Did you know that in Puerto Rico friends touch each other 180 times an hour in a typical cafe conversation? It's amazing how important touch can mean, even in conversation. That tidbit is from a study in the 1960s by psychologist Sidney Jourard. He observed conversations of friends in cafes in different countries and how much they touched each other in the course of the conversation. The score card: England: Zero U.S.: twice France: 110 times per hour
But Latins topped the charts. ¡Por supuesto!
