From Awakening Joy: 10 Steps That Will Put You on the Road to Real Happiness by James Baraz: There is a trap used to catch monkeys in Asia. A hole is drilled through one end of a coconut and the coconut is filled with candy and tied to a stake. Smelling the candy, a monkey is drawn to the coconut and reaches inside and grabs the candy. When the monkey attempts to run off its hand full of candy is stuck in the coconut and thus to the stake. In order to escape the trap the monkey, hand full of sweets or not, has to let go. It's a rare monkey that figures this out.
