As a single lady, I’ve hit most of the joints in San Francisco – always vaguely hoping I’d run into a nice fella. Invariably, though my instincts have been all wrong. Especially if I go to an event, because I’m interested in the topic. It seems that what I like other women do, too. Which is to say – doing what I want to do usually doesn’t leave a lot of opportunity to meet men.
Case in point. I like to take classes – on just about everything. So when I recently took a photography class I figured a nice side benefit would be that there would surely be some men in the class. Guys like gadgets ergo some men would likely attend. Alas, the class was filled with women.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m a sister. I support women, but where the heck are the men in San Francisco? Then I stumbled on this application: Where the Ladies At
The app developers aggregate FourSquare check ins by gender (using the names as a proxy) and then rank the places with the largest concentration of women. There is currently not an equivalent functionality for men.
So I’m thinking I’ll download the app, find out where the women are and then go somewhere else…
