What Entrepreneurship Means

October 12th, 2010

Entrepreneurship is not just about building a business. It’s about embracing and building your life, your story. I was, up until recently, very reluctant to talk about my own story.

I’ve learned, though, telling your story helps you see how much you are ultimately responsible for it. That’s a scary proposition until you realize that you are the author.

I was challenged recently to tell my story via video by Angelica Perez-Litwin who runs a website for Latinas . The result is here:

The process has taught me that telling your story is paramount to acknowledging it, growing from it and ultimately, letting it go. Freeing yourself to write another one. My new story is just beginning. What’s your story?

Alicia, I keep watching this video over and over again. It’s perhaps one of the most beautiful and touching videos I have ever watched. In just 4 minutes and 46 seconds, you manage to tell such a powerful story — leaving you wanting to see more — what’s next. But what’s next is so clear. You’re on to the best part of your life. We’ll be cheering you on.

Thanks for sharing your story. It is already changing other people’s stories as well.

    Angelica
