Opening Up

October 23rd, 2009

I didn’t realize I could become an entrepreneur until I met Steve Rafferty.  Steve is a friend who used to live near me in San Francisco.  When he left a full-time job and started his own company, it suddenly became possible for me.  I mean, if Steve could do it…

Sometimes all it takes is a chance to see yourself in someone else who is doing big things.  Knowing just that, an old friend from Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati, Jill Bowman, created Lookilulu, a website “Helping Girls See What They Can Do.”  Jill recently invited me to share my story on the site and interviewed me in my first podcast (also, unfortunately, while I had a terrible cold).

Check it out here.

Abrazos,

Alicia

    Dear Alicia,

Wow! I “just” learned about you today, through my good friend Jill Bowman. I am SO impressed, so incredibly impressed by your business, your passion and drive, and your personal story. What an inspiration to all women, especially Latinas.

And speaking about Latina, I would like to get in touch with you, by phone or email (I know you’re busy), about targeting the Latina market. I am a Clinical Psychologist and Personal/Life Coach, and the author of a recent blog: http://www.EverydayLifeHappiness.com. I have worked with Latinos and immigrants ALL of my professional life, as a clinical psychologist and former researcher. Now, however, I want to continue helping women feel empowered and feel good about themselves through my writing (blog, books, etc.). The problem, however, is that I am debating whether or not I should focus or target Latinas, in particular. I don’t want to narrow my target audience too much. Also, I am not sure how many Latinas out there are consuming blog informing, especially personal development blogs.

I would love to talk to you, at your convenience.

    Atentamente,

    Angelica Perez
